The pool - finished

I've been slack at updating the blog with photos, so here is the end result of the pool. It's an Ionizer pool so pretty much it is chemical free and because of that it is so beautiful to swim in and you don't have that toxic smell of chlorine.

We just need acouple of sun lounges and then we'll be set.
I might actually post some before pics, it really was a huge mess

Let there be plants!

View from my front door, we will be having fence inbetween my neighbours driveway and ours but it will just be standard black pool fencing so it won't block out the breeze or view and soon you won't see the fence as the garden will be all grown.
Side path right near front bedrooms, there are still more plants to go in here.

Looking up from halfway down the driveway

Bin area

Looking towards the two front bedrooms

On the patio looking towards pool and retaining wall. Yes I know the pool is a mess, we went swimming today

Back retaining wall and my 5 beautiful red lipstick palms that will grow tall and beautiful. The plants on the top of the retaining wall grow as tall as 5 metres and will thicken out, we also have planted 40 odd spider lily bulbs in there too.

Standing on the kids patio looking down the side of the house.

Looking out from just outside our bedroom.

Last weekend our landscape gardner dropped off 240 plants for shaun and I to plant, it took us all weekend but we did it. You may notice there are a few patches, there are still more plants to come. In 12-18 months time this is going to be a lush thick tropical garden, can't wait!

My beautiful baby boy is going to a new home

Here is Levi as a puppy, he is now 3 years old. He has nipped at my daughter (who's also three) a few times and yesterday he actually bit into her forearm and she now has 3 stitches.

As much as we utterly adore this beautiful boy I'm sending him to brisbane to go to a lady who runs the Lhasa Apso Rescue Association. She already has a potential owner lined up, a retired lady who has recently lost her Lhasa dog to old age, she's after a male Lhasa

Levi is flying out on saturday morning, it will be a sad sad day in the household.

Delivery of some palms today

New mulch in front driveway
New mulch outside the front of the house, ready for planting
Down the side of the house where I have my vegi patch, new mulch in here ready for plants

Outside of ensuite bathroom, not keen on those green boxes (housing for irrigation system) maybe some ferns will cover them up. Was told that in 6 months it will be nice and bushy so privacy will not be a problem

New palms down side of house, they make such a difference!

New grass inside pool area and new mulch ready for plants.

The guys did a lot today, I'm really loving the garden and yah no more red dirt anywhere!!!!

More garden progess

paving around pool complete except the drain insert which you can see on the inside of the pool fencing. Also you can see the black pool fencing near the play area, we plan to plant something that will soften this fencing.
The pool fencing inspection was yesterday and we passed! first go too! and I was warned that they are really cracking down and don't be upset if it takes us 3 goes to get a pass, hehe
New paved borders, Louella and the dogs love walking along this

New paved borders inside the pool area. The area inside the pavers will be grassed and outside will be plants.

Slowly but surely the back yard is nearly transformed, we were delayed last week due to rain but it's all back on again this week. I'd say another two weeks and it should be finished

Garden progress shots

Outside of front of the house, stepping stones leading to the side of the house. Plants still to go in and an area for the bins plus fencing still to go up until the white peg
I love these mountains, especially on a rainy day

Eastern side of the house, a mass of plants to go in here

Looking the opposite way, my vegi patch which still has to have some timber sleepers around it so it will be raised. There will be climbing vegi's on the fence and around the water tank

outside the garage looking towards the kids bedrooms, a mass of plants will go in here and also a fence between the neighbors driveway and ours, it will just be pool fencing so the breeze can still come into the house

The irrigation is all finished now and all pebbles and pathways are down. Also 90% of the soil is down ready for plants, plants should go in maybe within a week or so. I've just loved seeing it evolve from a red wet muddy patch to this, can't wait to see it finished!

More on the pool

My new paved area outside my laundry, along the fence will be a green vegetable crawler

Frameless fencing, doesn't it look fantastic!

The long metal drain on the floor will be going on the other side of the glass fencing tomorrow and then be connected to plumbing, a tile insert will lay in the middle of the drain. Our pool builder had never seen it before as apparently it's fairly new to the market.

A few more pictures of the pool since we've had the frameless glass fencing. We also had the cement put down around the pool today reading for paving, Levi my dog decided to walk the entire back length leaving his paw prints, lol.

We have grass!!!!

Louella's outside play area. There will be a border between the mulch and the grass but that will go down once the coping around the pool is done.

Yah we got our grass today and the play area mulch for ella. Having the grass down has totally transformed the yard! It's so lovely to look at!!!

The garden has started

Pool shell
Back retaining wall

Landscapers started yesterday and the garden is starting to take shape. More photos to follow, the grass will be in tomorrow!!!! It's not fun with 2 dogs and a toddler and red dirt! The fencing is almost finished too
